Discussion of the Master's thesis of student (Rafid Zaidan Khalif) Department of Electrical Engineering

The Master's thesis of student Rafid Zaidan Khalif, Department of Electrical Engineering, entitled "Optimization Strategies for Combined Economic and Emission Power Dispatch," was discussed.

Abstract: Combined Economic and Emission Power Dispatch (CEED) is a complex optimization problem that involves minimizing the overall cost of power generation while meeting all environmental emission constraints. This problem is challenging due to the non-linear and non-convex nature of the objective function and its constraints. The cost of producing electricity from different sources varies depending on the energy source used and the amount of emissions produced by each power plant. Electricity generation continues to increase daily as a result of global economic growth. This growth is largely attributed to the rise in greenhouse gas emissions, which lead to air pollution.
