Activities of the Rehabilitation, Employment and Follow-up Unit at the College

As part of the College of Engineering at Tikrit University's commitment to strengthening cooperation with training institutions related to the oil and gas sector, a delegation from the college visited the Baiji Oil Training Institute on Monday, September 15, 2025, to explore the possibility of offering specialized occupational safety courses in the oil sector for graduates of the College of Engineering at Tikrit University.

The college was represented on this visit by the Qualification, Employment, and Follow-up Unit, headed by Engineer Afnan Ihsan Abdul Karim, in coordination with the Department of Chemical Engineering, represented by the Head of Department, Engineer Maha Nizar Ismail, and Professor Saba Adnan Ghani. During the meeting between the delegation and the Institute's Director, Expert Professor Abdullah Mohammed Ali, and the Director of the Safety, Health, and Environment Center, Dr. Mohammed Hamza Khalaf, they discussed ways to cooperate between the Institute and the college in training engineering graduates and awarding them accredited specialized certificates within the Center's areas of expertise, especially since the Center's trainers are licensed by the British IOSH Foundation, which specializes in occupational safety and health.

This cooperation comes within the framework of the college’s endeavor to qualify its graduates according to the requirements of the oil labor market, and to enhance their chances of acceptance and popularity with industrial companies and institutions by providing them with the skills and certificates that are compatible with the needs of the energy sector in Iraq.
